Protection NET

Hi there, I just joint the forum. Could some one advice how to model a protection net in FEM in freeCAD? In my understanding the net is only holds tension on its fiber no moment. The net will be anchored to steel structure. Is it possible to have 3D solid and 2D net in one model?
