Sometimes the marks are helpful, especially when recompute is switched off.

Okey, I foresee an intresting use case here.
When user perform a replace ([Ticket #4616] "Replace" -command, which isn't implemented yet) then one will be really intrested in seeing what becomes effected (i.e. must be recalculated), by some marking/highlighting.
