Plastic garden chair. Freecad or blender?

Post by JussyAD »

Which software is more suitable to create this plastic garden chair? Freecad or blender? What methodology is the best approach?

What is the purpose of the created model? Do you want to create injection molds? Or do you need an approximation to use in architectural projects?

It needs to be an exact representation for injection moulds.

OK in that case you should forget about Blender.

Yes I was thinking the same thing. One could create a basic version of that chair quite quickly in blender I suppose, but this needs to be done in detail. As close as possible to the original within reason.

You can create it directly in FCAD, in detail.

What do you have to start to model, only this photo?
After #ElonMuskBuyTwitter I'm no more on Twitter, that's really enough :-(

... a more stable version for base jumpers.
Recently, when I sat in doctor's waiting room (not corona, I had stepped into a rusty nail),
there were very stylish Z-array chairs with an artistic grid in a tree design.

Having enough time, I thought about the design, production and my abilities to redesign it in FreeCAD.
You now remembered me. Here a first trial quick and dirty.
