...better a forum than none
...but the freeCAD forums are a mess, hard to navigate, and to filter, categorizing and indexing ridiculous!
...where does one post issues? This should be under menu navigation/workflow/GUI
...hope someone will chime in to let me know how to post correctly, and I can move this in its proper slot.
issue and its answer, hope will help someone else...
0 - was working away until the colors on the freeCAD GUI got the best of me.
I had to modify my WIN 7 color scheme thus had to reboot.
After reboot, I noticed the following:
1 - clicked on workbench dropdown, going from Part to PartDesign
2 - Part '...' Path !? 'no PartDesign entry'
3 - clicked on View - Workbench ... no PartDesign entry !?!?
4 - Snooped a million ways, to no avail... started to hit Help and forums
Hours of searching to get nothing.
5. closed everything, closed freeCAD, restarted it, and eventually again rebooted WIN7 - still no go
6. Spent more hours in the forums, queried the Internet... nothing!
7. Thought about reinstalling, and that would have fixed the issue,
but it would not have exposed the nuts and bolts of it.
...and I do have work to do, so I got close to hitting the trigger.
8. Gave it one more try, and ended up in the Tools - Customize - Workbenches panel
9. what!? PartDesign workbench is on disabled side!?
10. Reinstated it and also realized the Sketch workbench also disabled, reinstated that too.
11. Voila! all back to normal!
Moral: how can 2 workbenches I just used, BOTH become disabled!?
...and why in all the posts I visited in the forum that treated disappearing workbenches, not one mention that they can be 'disabled' in the Customize section?

Re: GUI: menus missing workbench
Hard to sday without knowing what exactly you had done previously.
Because you visited the wrong posts?...and why in all the posts I visited in the forum that treated disappearing workbenches, not one mention that they can be 'disabled' in the Customize section?
