Re: [Features Requests] Sketcher Radius/Diameter presentation
And just how many angels *can* dance on the head of a pin?
I sometimes move the dimensions as discussed here, but it is pretty clear there would not be a universal "best" angle. How many times does this need to happen? Is it often enough to require coding a preference, for example, or just move as necessary and get on with life?
This is proof that FreeCAD is becoming quite mature.

Re: [Features Requests] Sketcher Radius/Diameter presentation
I have a dream, that this angle could be in Preference>Sketcher.
It' a pure cosmetic wish. This is proof that FreeCAD is becoming quite mature.
But something not impossible because the Sketcher memorize the 'cosmetic' position of dimension constrains.
Re: [Features Requests] Sketcher Radius/Diameter presentation
I also like this idea very much. And can immediately think about an extension: add an additional n° for each additional r/d constraint sharing the same midpoint. So when we have two concentric circles, the first constraint is inclined by 15°, the second by 30°. Or "add 15° to the largest inclination of all constraints sharing the same mid point", to accommodate manual placement of the previously added constraints.

Oh, whoever takles this deserves to decide on the angle like a king - please don't make the Sketcher settings more complicated than they've to be

From time to time some user interaction is ok.
A Sketcher Lecture with in-depth information is available in English, auf Deutsch, en français, en español.

Pull request here : https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/pull/4934Shalmeneser wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 10:33 am In Sketcher, Radius/Diameter dimensions are written horizontally.
Would it be possible to write them (slightly) sloped (at creation) to discriminate them from horizontal dimensions ?
I choosen 15° as default. This will be user settable and if 15° isn't a good value, tell me and I'll update the PR.
I don't envisage to add it in the user preferences, just to keep it as an advanced user fine-tuning parameter.
To me too
Just set an angle of 0°.2) Ideally allow the option to have dia/rad dims shown
horizontally as well as in line.
This is already supported in 0.20 at least. Look the video in the PR link.3) Support ø/R

Re: [Features Requests] Sketcher Radius/Diameter presentation
Cool, very nice addition, I vote for a bigger angle maybe 30° but it's obviously no big deal
Re: [Features Requests] Sketcher Radius/Diameter presentation
You can change it with 'BaseApp/Preferences/Mod/Sketcher/RaDiaAngle' when it's merged.adrianinsaval wrote: ↑Thu Jul 22, 2021 2:37 pm Cool, very nice addition, I vote for a bigger angle maybe 30° but it's obviously no big deal
