Thanks for the answer.adrianinsaval wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 11:23 am Github is a very popular site meaning a lot of usernames are already in use, are you sure you aren't just coming up with too common usernames?
I've tried it with several user names.... so it's very popular! I will insist on registering with a longer username. I didn't think it would be that complicated.

Re: FreeCAD Ship Workbench Official Thread
Great that ship workbench will be developed again
Maybe the weight/load condition section could be changed. For a vessel design I think it`s not the best way due to the numbers of weights and weights developed by different designers (i.e. steel design, interior design, electrical parts, engine parts etc etc ...) so it might be better to have a SQL database for the light-ship data to collect from various sources and only as a light-ship data input into the load-condition.
For cranes, cargo and tanks a calculation in FreeCAD make sence but I think it would be better to have different calculation schemes. Bulk/Grain/Liquid as one possibility, Container as second, General Cargo and heavy lifts as third possibility.
For container incl loading port/discharging port/weight/bay and stacking load per bay for 20`, 40`, with different colour for loading/discharging port and ability to create different loading conditions per port by switching on/off groups of container.
For crane operation, specially also for heavy lift, possibilities to move tweendeck covers and, if possible to fill TD covers as well as operation in tandem lift and if possible for the vessel to work with a stability pontoon. A lot of vessels are operating today with cane capacities 250 ton + SWL so stability issues is a problem today.
Another point, for the future, would be longitudinal strength of vessel, but for first attempt I think for heavy lift or general cargo a point weight should be fine.
For the GZ curve and stability calculated in equilibrium of free trim, the IMO SOLAS requirements for the loading condition and special vessel should be shown, therefor not only the GZ curve, but also the area under the curve should be shown.
I would assist to develop something like that, but my programming knowledge is not very good.

Perhaps opening feature requests in the Github issue queue?

Re: FreeCAD Ship Workbench Official Thread
The Ship workbench looks very cool, however I get an error when installing the dependency capytaine.
Here is the log file, any ideas on how to fix this? Should I file an issue report? I am using Windows 10 and Freecad 20.2
