I had meant a proof of concept, and you have to admit that the question had a rather rethorical touch.Pauvres_honteux wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 10:36 am You will not get any proof. It was a question, not a statement.

Re: [Feature request] Sketcher point-on-point gives one common point
I'm beginning to get a faint idea what you want: Making things coincident would mean you store somewhere a point (probably two subsequent memory cells) and let both lines point to that address. This could eliminate one line in the list of solver equations. Formally it means you have already solved some equations in advance.

Would it really eliminate a line in the solver equations? Solutions for each line still have to involve both vertexes of the edge.chrisb wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 1:31 pm I'm beginning to get a faint idea what you want: Making things coincident would mean you store somewhere a point (probably two subsequent memory cells) and let both lines point to that address. Is it possible...two edges sharing the definition of a vertex could potentially create a loop situation in the solver??
Just seems a shared vertex would require additional conditions to be checked, probably invalidating any gains.

You are probably right: respecting existing coincidences probably isn't much better than solving them.
