Why a Group cannot be activated like a Part

Why a Group cannot be activated like a Part

I was wondering why a Std_Group object cannot be activated like a Std_Part object.
In Draft for example we check for active Part when an object is created and we automatically add it to the Part. This cannot happen with a group, and we have to use the Draft_AutoGroup command in the Draft_Tray.
Does this question make sense?
