Every time one boots up FC current HEAD (v0.20~) this line is displayed.
This issue reared it's head again. IIRC it was related to 3dconnexion mice?
Anyone know if this is a regression of previous fix or something unrelated?

Yes - this is the 3D Connexion startup -- it gets noisy when you have the library, but aren't running the mouse daemon.

Could we patch something on our end or do we need to submit changes upstream?

edit:
I asked upstream: https://github.com/FreeSpacenav/spacenavd/issues/56

OK, so apparently upstream says these messages were removed -2 years ago- (ref)
But they didn't release it.
tl;dr its solved upstream but hasn't been released. So they may do a minor release soon.

they mention a SPNAV_SOCKET environment variable in the changelog, do you have any idea if this may solve the flatpak issues with it? IIRC flatpaks couldn't get access to the default socket because it was in /var

Actually the first time I've heard this. Thanks for asking on downstream flathub. Hopefully it does. the spnav dev is engaged so it may merit asking directly
