Well, it took me more than a couple of days to come with a functional skeleton.
The idea is to avoid the use of bodies' faces and edges.
Because FreeCAD makes construction geometry invisible after exiting the sketch, I have to resort to use intermediate sketches containing only construction/support lines. Until now this works with single parts and I still have to try with assemblies.

Re: Discussing Master sketch approaches
I also use a master sketch when I can, and even a master-sketch driven by a design table.
In solidworks I even often used a 3D sketch just like you but with the 3D sketch you didn't needed to make more than one sketch.
In linkstage I used a body to store the master sketch, not sure why. I also had some issues with links but after some trial and error it seems to be stable now.
Can't really show the results as it is a design I am working on for the purpose on selling in the future.

Re: Discussing Master sketch approaches
1) You can use Sketcher_External on sketches. It's better than edges because it depends only on one sketch and not a full construction.
2) Show upward sketches and hide construction.
I don't understand here the need for 'master' sketch. (They are not 'master' imho.)

You are right and I'm already doing it.Shalmeneser wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 8:42 pm 1) You can use Sketcher_External on sketches. It's better than edges because it depends only on one sketch and not a full construction.
The role of the "construction sketches" is to transfer reference dots, using the "Sketcher External" command, to not parallel sketches.
