Putting svg on pad

How do I get (as svg)

I got this far after a couple of hours of playing!!!!!!! (126 Path pieces)(put in simple group and moved to cap)

Can't get it to create pad or pocket

Assuming it applies here.

It cannot be padded or pocketed because it is full of nests and Tees etc.. These are not allowed since the SW cannot tell which should be solid or which should be void.

for a simple "button" like this, personally, i would do it all in part/draft...

the clue of why it does not work is in the video, all the shapes padded are filled faces.

so go path by path and do draft/upgrade, if it can make a face out of it - pad will work on that unit as it is, otherwise not
then you will have to decide what is going to be positive/negative faces and treat them accordingly
the ones that will not make a face, those you will have to modify so that they do...

in other words, a lot of grinding on a svg like this, and no real shortcuts available (well, apart from rolling your own logic in a script..., or paying someone else to grind away at it...)

btw are you looking for padding, or engraving?

I Am Way Too new to all of this.
I don't even know Where to start with what needs to be done here!!!
I'll leave this to a Better time Of When I Know More. lol

Maybe you need a special feature, go into Macros_recipes and Code_snippets, Topological_data_scripting.
My macros on Gist.github here complete macros Wiki and forum.

Looks like it's going to work, but I'm going to have to Do A Lot of weeding and Experimenting to get it right. (Another day, Today I have No Patience)
