As a forum moderator: I think these are great ideas. We probably need to split the topic because a plugin management infrastructure goes well beyond providing windows builds.
As a contributor: Fragmentation is a serious problem in Open Source Software. Currently there is a high motivation to get something in the master branch. This allows the core devs to enforce some kind of quality standard.
For example: If I share a Macro that I wrote, I don't care about comments in the code, toolbar icons, documentation and internationalization. If I ask to include a Module, I have to take all this into consideration.
Yorik had to remove the automatic download of python modules because of a debian policy.

Which github python interface freecad developer use?

If the community agrees to use git as the repository
there can be a prefered python lib to access.

Has somebody experience with https://github.com/jacquev6/PyGithub
or is there a better/simpler one?

I have upload updated unofficial development snapshot of FreeCAD 15.4283 here:

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/rj0idt7yj89d ... RdHca?dl=0

There are 32 and 64 bit builds. Unfortunately the x64 build will not run on Win XP you'll need to use the x86 build.
Follow the instruction in the readme.

Hopefully this will be the last unofficial build and we will have official builds on SourceForge this weekend.

Edit: I repaired the above link

Having Windows XP installed is careless. Running a 32bit Windows 7 or 8 on 64-bit hardware is unfortunate.

This weekend. You are talking about development snapshots, not an actual stable release?

Yes but there are still alot of users using 32 bit XP. I installed a Linux distro on my old XP machine.
The X64 build works on Win 7,8 and should on Vista but I could not test Vista. It is only 64 bit XP that is a problem.

Yes! definitely development snapshots. I am working with Peterl94 to provide more frequent Windows builds. Similar to the Linux daily PPA Hopefully this will help with testing before the next stable release.

I will test the 32 bit version and can upload it then to my server

(the download time from dropbox is still 22 min)

or will you bring it up to sourceForge ?

@microelly2

Thanks, let me know if there are any problems. I am still building and copying files, so human error is still a distinct possibility ;)

Peterl94 is working on a build script so all builds will be consistent with known defaults etc as discussed previously in this thread.

When this is complete the plan is to upload to SF.

We are close but Peter is a very busy man as he is also working on the Mac builds.
