Your OS is 32 bit so x64 will not work, you need to use x86 version

Open the bin folder of the extracted .7z file and start FreeCAD by double clicking the FreeCAD Icon

Is there a ReadMe file on how to install ?

Or is it simply a matter of making a copy of FC14, renaming it "15", and then
copying the files in the .7z folders to overwrite existing ones ?

cheers

please note, this are development test builds. you should be able to run them by simply extracting the archive (7z) and run the FreeCAD.exe inside the bin folder. there is no install. you don't have to copy it (the extracted folders and files) to any special place, you can keep it on the desktop if you like. you don't have to replace your existing FreeCAD installation. just extract and run. you remove (uninstall) it by simply deleting the folder.

Thanks saso,

I think your explanation is more clear than mine.

I will update the Wiki and Peterl94 will upload a readme to the Win dev directory. I am glad to see people using the dev builds :D

i guess one thing to note with this is that it uses the same config directory and files as the original (installed) version. so in some cases this could result in some unexpected changes and confusion or worst case corrupt config files. in most cases this should not represent a big problem and should be possible to solve by simply deleting the config files to "reset" them. but for those users to whom their personal configuration is critical it would be advised to keep a copy.

I agree with this, however for me this not a big problem.

Hello.

I was not quite sure where to post it, but i am having graphical issues with the dev snapshot on win 7 64 bit.
See here.

I didn't follow all the discussion about the qaurter based viewer.
But i just verified that 0.14.3700 does work perfectly and 0.15.4332 does not.

So it looks like a graphical issue and/or something lib-related (just my personal guess ...).

Could you take a look ?
Thanks in advance.

In my case, it doesn't work this way as has been discussed earlier in this thread. I tried it again today with the version below, still the same problem. The errors go away and the self test completes without errors if I rename the "FreeCAD 0.14" folder inside "Program Files", create a new folder with that same name there and place the three main folders from the dev snapshot inside. The 3D mouse still doesn't work, though.
