why? I wouldn't like to have a new 19.3 release with a big issue in exporting STEP files... this is a big issue for many users I thinkadrianinsaval wrote: ↑Sun Nov 28, 2021 1:48 pm let's not clutter this thread with that stuff if it's not actually related so it would be better if you make a separate thread

FC 0.19.3 brings a lot of bugfixes and since it includes OCC 7.5.2, users benefit also from OCC fixes. In the changelog of OCC 7.5.3 there are no STEP issues mentioned.
As I requested, could you please bring your particular STEP file to a new forum post to see if this is maybe an issue within FC? (CC there Yorik)
To finish the release of FC 0.19.3 you would help me if you would take my latest installer and test if FC works nicely for you.
Re: please test - Windows build for FreeCAD 0.19.3 available
Here is a new build:
https://github.com/donovaly/FreeCADInst ... ller-4.exe
There I upgraded Qt to Qt 5.15.2 (as we have in 0.19.2), GMSH to 4.8.4 (in 0.19.2 we have GMSH 4.8.3). I also add the DLLs necessary for older Windows PCs we also have already for FC 0.19.2.
So unless there won't be regression reports this would be the final Win installer for FC 0.19.3.

I confirmed the presence of issue using the 7.5.0 buildeasyw-fc wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 10:29 am I have the issue with the motor.FCStd fileCode: Select all
11:26:54 <Part> ViewProviderExt.cpp(1336): Cannot compute Inventor representation for the shape of Unnamed#Part__Feature
we now have a 0.19.3 windows build with OCC 7.5.3:
https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... 72#p550372
the step file you provided still gives the same error but exporting again and then importing works without issue
the same thing happens with uwe's latest build with 7.5.2 so I think it was just this that caused the issue:
which I somehow missed the first time. So we can leave the step thing behind
Re: please test - Windows build for FreeCAD 0.19.3 available
This is my build, so it uses OCC 7.5.2. But it looks promising that I can provide a further build that uses OCC 7.5.3. But as I wrote, since the changelog for OCC 7.5.3: https://dev.opencascade.org/content/ope ... ce-releaseadrianinsaval wrote: ↑Mon Nov 29, 2021 1:33 pm we now have a 0.19.3 windows build with OCC 7.5.3:

does not mention STEP, you cannot expect anything regarding STEP.
However, as I also requested, please bring the particular STEP file to the forum in a separate thread and CC there Yorik to have a look.

Re: please test - Windows build for FreeCAD 0.19.3 available
Sorry, I was referring to the conda build, that does use occ 7.5.3
Code: Select all
OS: Windows 10 (10.0)
Word size of OS: 64-bit
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.19.24365 (Git)
Build type: Release
Python version: 3.8.12
Qt version: 5.12.9
Coin version: 4.0.0
OCC version: 7.5.3
Locale: Spanish/Paraguay (es_PY)
from my understanding it just comes from using occ 7.5.0 when exportingHowever, as I also requested, please bring the particular STEP file to the forum in a separate thread and CC there Yorik to have a look.
Re: please test - Windows build for FreeCAD 0.19.3 available
I confirm that with this build the STEP file doesn't present any issueuwestoehr wrote: ↑Sun Nov 28, 2021 7:03 pm Here is a new build:

Re: please test - Windows build for FreeCAD 0.19.3 available
I still get this error:
Code: Select all
<Part> ViewProviderExt.cpp(1336): Cannot compute Inventor representation for the shape of Unnamed#Part__Feature
Note: for FreeCAD 0.19.x we can only use OCC 7.5.x, not OCC 7.6.

Re: please test - Windows build for FreeCAD 0.19.3 available
My understanding is that that step file was exported with a faulty OCC version (7.5.0) so it always gives that error when importing, independent of what OCC version used to import, the real test is to export the body in the fcstd file and then import again, this results in the same error with the 7.5.0 build and the first 7.5.2 build but in the latest 7.5.2 build and the conda 7.5.3 build it works without issues.uwestoehr wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 11:01 amI still get this error:Code: Select all

Re: please test - Windows build for FreeCAD 0.19.3 available
I meant exactly that: exporting with the new build is fixing the issue in the STEP file...adrianinsaval wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 11:16 am My understanding is that that step file was exported with a faulty OCC version (7.5.0) so it always gives that error when importing
