0.13 release branch

Post by jriegel »

Today I branched for the 0.13 release. The release branch is:

releases/FreeCAD-0-13 on our sf.net git repo.

I uploaded already a 0.13 RC (release Candidate) installer for Windows and will do some tests on
different systems. If this went well we can do the release and switch the pointers on sf.net and the
web-site...

Another thing: I was just on ubuntu, and over there when he offers latest stable, he is offering 0.11 version - It would be a good idea to offer 0.13 version after the release.

And one more question - do you plan to get assembly in 0.14?

if yes, maybe it is worth to consider naming it FreeCAD 1.0

It is way too good to be 0.xx for so long. We need radical versioning increase for assembly :-D

I like your optimism :)

But the Assembly and the Naming will get us some headache before we can think of a 1.0 release :?

Do you mean the green download button on the Sourceforge project page? https://sourceforge.net/projects/free-cad/

AFAIK this is autodetected from the files available. Or is it really?

On the FreeCAD website it links to the PPA page.

According to my package manager I can have the PPA version 0.13 or version 0.12 from the official Ubuntu package repositories, but that's for Kubuntu 12.04.1 , they may perhaps still offer 0.11 if you are on an older Ubuntu version.

I mean here:

What version does sourceforge offer to download on this page?
