as the Python addon for Linuxcnc XYUV Gcode does

Hello,
thanks for you suggestion. I integrate a NACA 4 and 5 digits in the workbench.

After creation you can change the NACA profil/Number of points and choord or switch to a DAT file.

Fred,

Thank you. I tried playing around with your WB. Can you or someone show which WB or tool to make holes in the ribs and give them thickness so I can 3D print them. I tried to use the part design work bench and sketch but Freecad didn’t like that because there was no body container. I think I am mixing work benches so a step by step instruction would be nice.

I confirm there is a problem :D , until I find a solution here are two workarounds :
two ways to resolve your problem :
-after the rib creation, go to draft WB
-first way : transform the rib in a sketch : a clic on

, after this operation you can extrude the rib, use the part WB etc..
-second way : downgrade the ribs: a clic on

Some precision, there is a problem only with Part Design WB, but you can use directly the rib in the Part WB.

In part design you can use a shapebinder inside a body

Thank you for the quick replies to help me out. I will work on your instructions.

Eventually, this is what I would like to learn how to do. There is a new technique to create 3d printed airplanes and it requires really good CAD technique because the wing ribs are not at the standard angle. See here:

Nice work!
Open end could be an option to build a bspline. Could be x% of the chord.

… 2 BSplines in sketcher with 5 - 6 Points one on suction side and also one on pressure side gives already a solution.

HI! I've made a Pull Request implementing the usage of BSplines, please review! Currently, there is no GUI to choose to use either BSpline or lines since I don't really know how to do that, please make one if you can.

To anyone interested, head to my branch if you wanna test.

Thanks!
