Buggy window position and size in multi-display installation

Post by JohannAFannberg »

OS: Windows 10 Version 1909
Word size of OS: 64-bit
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.19.24097 (Git)
Build type: Release
Branch: master
Hash: 48dc4063f80c1e1d65d6a98d81b24308b0bf28e9
Python version: 3.8.6+
Qt version: 5.15.1
Coin version: 4.0.1
OCC version: 7.5.0
Locale: Icelandic/Iceland (is_IS)

This could be a variation of the topic "Feature Request: Save project information and window state to cache"

My installation is this:
Laptop with 4k display and external 2k and 3k displays.
When FreeCad is closed on the 4k display, when reopened, the start position and size are preserved. But when closed in the 3k display (which is my preferred display because of size), it will open almost out-of-view, and with a exceedingly large size (see picture). The window is visible as a small ribbon to the far right of the 4k display and a bare corner on the 3k display (located above and to the right side of the 4k display). The window has to be dragged and resized in steps because of the ridiculous characteristics.

This has been a persistent issue for a long time (long row of revisions), or as long as I have been working with these displays.

In m y view, this is a buggy behavior. Kind regards, Johann.
