Talking back with the workflow, Yorik mentioned that panels function is inspired in WikiHouse project. I think for that purpose something necessary to include should be a system to import and save the components like blocks. Then these parts can be stored in a base of data and shared with other users. I do not know if FreeCAD has similar function.

You can already, it's easy, it's just a matter of saving one piece as a single .fcstd file, then use the Parts Library (you can add your own folder in it, or even, of course, share your work with everybody :mrgreen: ). Then you just have your pieces in the library that you can drag and drop.

This makes me think, I should add a thumbnail prevew to that script...

First cross-platform FreeCAD file manager with thumbnails preview! Nice.
