I think the quality of the code isn't good enough for master. But maybe it could be rewritten as a small button-set for the "part-workbench" ?

for now I have not tried it on linux, tested on this installation

OS: Windows 8.1
Word size of OS: 64-bit
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.15.4671 (Git)

everything works fine, it does not require extra libraries, previous versions of FreeCAD seem outdated,
about installation, since someone has copied the entire folder FCgear into /freecad/Mod, I specified that you must copy only the folder "gear" into /freecad/Mod. See http://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/index.php?title=FCGear
