Changing wall dimensions

Post by elsordo »

How do I change dimensions of walls, especially after joining multiple walls.

The case I had is a simple structure having four walls. Originally, all walls were the same length - that is, a square building.

However, I wanted to give the building a rectangular foot print. But I could not change the length of the two parallel walls.

Your first post, welcome to FreeCAD. :)

Arch has had considerable development in recent times, please always post your Help menu...about FreeCAD" data so we know what we are dealing with.

that depends on how the "wall" was created , it can be defined by another object in which case some parameters will be ignored as they are defines by that other object.

It would be best to post a fcstd file that shows your specific case so we can look at it and answer more specifically.

I figured out how to do it when using a rectangle as the base geometry.

After I made the wall using a rectangle as a base, I toggled the visibility of the rectangle and was then able to get to the underlying rectangle and change its dimensions which in turn changed the dimensions of the wall.

I'm using
