I get similar results when trying to add Draft to the end faces too. Instead of using Draft you can crate a Sketch of a triangle on a side face, then Pocket "Through All". If you make the triangle legs the same length as the side of the tube steel and the Pocket fails, try extending the triangle legs outside the solid (it's become habit for me):

Just a thought but perhaps::looo wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2017 11:34 am maybe my little workbench is of any help for your task:

@looo what are your thoughts on possibly integrating welding in to your WB ?
For example: issue #1240

The ticket also describes adding welding symbols, but that is a different story altogether.

Sorry I've been offline for some time, but I browsed through the links you've provided Kunda1and I'm blown away. I will look into it further as soon as possible, but from what I see that is exactly what I need.Kunda1 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2017 9:14 am For example: issue #1240

Re: Welder looking to be more efficient using FreeCAD
I want to shift gears here to something else,
Ok, I've seen video on a combustion engine for a car, an the user was able to have all the parts moving and functioning as intended.
Now I can see this could be handy in the future. I have a file that I have just made of a "butterfly" hinge, and I'm hoping this simple part would be something to start with when I learn to use this feature.
Any leads, videos, help, is greatly appreciated, and if any discrepancies are found with the methods used to create the part I'd love to now.

Re: Welder looking to be more efficient using FreeCAD
My wb contain some tools to create frames. I think flamingo wb has some similar tools, and is way more advanced. I do not have a use-case for the mentioned topics, so I don't think I have time to implement something like this...Kunda wrote:@looo what are your thoughts on possibly integrating welding in to your WB ?

Re: Welder looking to be more efficient using FreeCAD
This seems to be a new topic. You may search the forum for installation and usage of the Animation Workbench. The basic idea of FreeCAD animations is to control some of the constraints with a python script.Montoya88 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2017 7:00 am Ok, I've seen video on a combustion engine for a car, an the user was able to have all the parts moving and functioning as intended.

Just a heads up that welding symbols have been implemented in TechDraw, see https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=38560
