Maybe see how you can use cfmesh from the CFD workbench
https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... 6&start=70
This mesher may be useful for FEM

Hello makkemal,
at the moment only gmsh can mesh BooleanFragment-bodies (needed when using
different materials). cfmesh/snappyhexmesh detect only one part of the whole body.

But it is interesting either because it is possible to make a hex mesh with snappyhexmesh !!!

They have mesh regions built in for cfmesh which creates hex mesh

They also have a nice selection filter for surfaces.
A feature I have been missing in FEM

The only problem I see for FEM is the Wedge elements

might be interesting in this regard as well.

Since we use smesh this might be possible somehow too. I do not know what mesher was used in the video eventually.
