Tool-Button nomenclature?

Post by JoshM »

Reading Chrisb's wiki, I ran across an inconsistency--probably won't be the last :D ...

The GUI Button when hovered over reads "Tool Manager (T, P)", so I thought it strange Chrisb wrote "Tool Library". Pressing that Button results in a Pop-Up-Window that is labeled "Tool Library". Which is correct?

Thanks,
Josh

Similarly--and this goes right back to the Post Processor versus Postprocessor topic, but the GUI Button hover reads "Post Process the selected job (P, P) and the Path Menu label is "Post Process P, P". So, it seems like these could be reconciled, so GUI Button label = Path Menu label = term use in documentation... a goal anyway.

Which brings up the (P, P) versus P, P difference. All the GUI Buttons have "(_, _)" with parenthesis where the equivalent Path menu has no parenthesis.

Not trying to nitpick, but inconsistency leads to confusion leads to forum questions, etc...

Cheers,
Josh

Similarly, the Path Job Output Tab is labeled Processor, but everywhere else the reference is to Post Processor or Postprocessor :? .... The hints for the Arguments defines it well, but it seems like it should show as an indented sub-selection to the Postprocessor, or be labeled Post Processor Arguments.

Here's another suggestion:

The Workplan tab on the Job Edit window is used to reorder Operations, etc... It works well, and the visible item labels and the explicit up/down arrows are great. Double-clicking on Operations under Job brings up a dedicated window with similar duplicate functionality, labeled "Compound Paths" not "Workplan"--though that's what it is. It's harder to use with the drag up/down compared to the arrows with long lists--keeping in mind dressups drop items down, etc...
