A big amount of the additional 90MB comes from the updated documentation.

That explains it very well. Perhaps it's time to think about two packages like on Ubuntu.

Are there libraries that need updated in the libpack, or is it good to go? Or are you thinking going with py3 and conda?

I've updated Python2 and openssl locally for security fixes, but I can't upload at the moment because of my ISP issue.
I still haven't tried patchin netgen 5.3 for OCCT 7.2 yet.

I think the PY3/QT5 Conda stuff, will have to wait for 0.18. FreeCAD PY3 is still too buggy. I have working portable builds for Win x64/x32 though. So we can offer a 0.18-dev that is the same commit as 0.17-release.

Maybe after the release we could put the offline doc in an independent repo, like if it was a different project...

Looking at ulrich1a's suggestion would also be nice, that is to offer the documentation package in other languages. Italian and French are pretty complete, and German is hopefully getting there.

I was able to upload the latest Libpcks https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD-port ... /tag/v0.17 Version 11.10
Netgen doesn't work on x32. We can switch AppVeyor to use this for 0.18

The choice is to update to OCCT7.2 and patch netgen before the release?

Just a friendly reminder: today April 1st is the 2nd anniversary of v0.16.6700 release.

It would be nice if v0.17 was released the same day
