Here are a few other designs. These are inspired by polygonal art and each variation is actually a combination of the first two logos.

There are a lot of icons in this topic that I like, but I'm still not convinced that any is worthy as a replacement for the FreeCAD icon we have now (and I still don't know what is is that current icon lacks).

But if each future FreeCAD release had it own icon, so that for each new FreeCAD release a new icon would appear in the Launcher, Desktop, Start Menu, etc., a new icon in that regard might be favored by more of our community. The FreeCAD logo itself wouldn't be changed - just a new logo for each release.

These icons are just concepts and are not meant to replace anything.

A few more variations.

I don't like this one. I never had this association with the FreeCAD logo, but this here made a spontaneous association with a four letter word. I did never use this word here in the forum, although I was dared to when asking again and again to show the FreeCAD info or upload a file.
Two capital letters would be ok, and having no distance between as well.
A Sketcher Lecture with in-depth information is available in English, auf Deutsch, en français, en español.

I can understand your concern. I have edited my post.

Hi @AR795.

Image

Could you take the existing logo geometry and apply this pattern on it. Likely that would make it suitable to represent development builds (differentiation factor).

Yes, the pattern can be applied.

The problem of this logo, IMHO, is that it suggests it's mesh geometry (triangles). But one of the main characteristics of FreeCAD, is that it's brep-based, and not mesh-based (although meshes are also supported and handled)
