Why not anchor in the rock rather than removing it Thomas?
Beneath the mast there is the electronics-equipment (blue cube). They want
it at street level for better maintenance. I have send a mail to the contractor.
The location is to far away from the slope, 7,5 m. That is only a narrow path. At the actual
position we get an excavation (yellow) of min 100 m^3.

Finally I got the correct dimensions of the mast-foundation and
the concrete-housing of the electronics-components (blue cube).
There is a 5 cm gap between the mast-foundation and the concrete-housing to ensure
"static-decoupling". When I have the correct loading of the earth-pressure, lets do a FEM-run.
The steel-construction (without gratings) is a protection against falling ice/stones.

Wow I am impressed with your use of freecad fem module. I am trying to get some assistance on it in this thread I would appreciate if anyone would take a look. :ugeek: :geek:

BTW: great stuff thomas :D did you analyse the concrete wall in FreeCAD FEM ? How about the results ... how about reinforcement ?

Work in progress. My boss gave me another urgent project.
I will do the FEM-calculation next week.

The housing is built on massive rock, in reality there
should be no earth pressure. When using a constant pressure
of 10 kN/m^2, max principal stress is 1,5 MPa. The mean
tensile strenght of concrete C25/30 is 2,6 MPa.
==> no reinforment necessary

Self weight of the housing is 36 tons, no tilting possible.
Tomorrow we will deliver our design to Swisscom, lets see...

If drains get plugged then water may also build up behind the wall? So taking account of some pressure makes a lot of sense in my view. Hmmm, in the worst case this could be as much as 4m=40 kN/m^2 ??

Yes, standing water produces 40 kN/m^2 pressure at the bottom. The high wall
has an area of approx 25 m^2, which gives a horizontal force of 500 kN!
Thats too high. The scenario gets more worse when they fill liquid concrete
in the gap between rock/wall. I will talk with my colleagues about that.
Maybe we must add some horizontal anchor bars in the rock.
And we put reinforcement for shrinking.
