Final test with contact included looks fine in FreeCAD:

but the same in ParaView shows that after export the nodes get connected again ?!?!?

Anyway, FreeCAD, GMSH and CCX respond in a predictable way.

But when I create a small gap, as suggested by UR_, then also PV displays a sensible results:

If there is a Paraview guru amongst us .... is there a Coherence option in ParaView too? It would save me adding small gaps at all contact surfaces, with potential mistakes.

seams not to happen on pipeline creation ...

FreeCAD standard result object:

but at exporting to VTK file format ... Did you use FreeCAD Vtk pipline export to exort to VTK?

Aaaaaaaaa ... the fcstd file I posted was with the small gaps !!!! That works well in ParaView. The one with zero gap gives the sticking nodes.

I re-did it with zero gap and you are right (of course :D ) the VTK pipeline works well, but the exported results to ParaView not ?!

Here the file I used for zero gap:

Post tensioning ...

I am running out of time (and patience  ). I attach the file for those who want to try. This should work "as is". Actual post-tensioning would be the next step, but not before this simple load case converges.
