Helo me distinguish the result of FEM

Post by nquantum »

I've get idea of what FEM is from tutorial and use it in projects to my cnc projects to see how much degradation or where the weak point.

However Im not the expert only get idea. So I like to ask the meaning for example the FEM tutorial:
https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/FEM_Cal ... tilever_3D

The z-displacment show
Min -88.443mm
Avg -34.27mm
Max 0mm

This number mean if suppose the simulation is acculate. Once the body that fix and get that force at the end. It will sag at average 34.27mm and max at 88.443 immediately?

I'm not sure if I understand you, but this means minimum, average and maximum of showed displacements - i.e. how much the nodes will shift in z direction if the model is loaded by the applied force.

min and max are the smallest and biggest displacements over the whole modell. Avg is the averange, buf does not really say anything useful IMHO.
