How to attach these two sketches

Postby joaopcrodrigues » Sun Nov 25, 2018 1:32 pm

Hello,

It must be a simple thing but haven't figure it out yet.
I'm building a solid based on lofting sections (Sketch001 and Sketch002) but want them to be constraint to the intersection of the "Sketch" that will give a shape to my solid.
So, how do I constraint "sketch001.H_Axis" "12-Point" to "Sketch.Edge8" ?

You must use the Sweep function and not the Loft in the Part Workbench

Its not allowed yet to hook something on a spline's sketcher.

If you want to make a solid the Sketches you Sweep must be closed shapes, but yours are open. You could close Sketch001 and Sketch002 by connecting the left endpoints with line segments or some other edge, but I don't know if that's the shape you want.

Neither of these Sketches are in the file you posted. And in that file, Sketch001 and Sketch002 seem to be the same.

Here is what it looks like after you Sweep Sketch001 and Sketch002 along Sketch:

I used the Part WB instead of Part Design because none of the Sketches are closed shapes.

Actually, I had in mine to be able to easily transform the inner sections without loosing the overall shape.

As you can see in the new file,
fuselage.fcstd

, that took me a wile and I have the felling that there should be a proper way to do it.

Al the sections where created and then adjusted/shaped by sight to the outer shapes "Topcut" and Sidecut". Very repetitive and time consuming. And at the end, after the loft I didn't like the result very much, specially the last part. If there was a way to constrain points of the sections to the outer shapes, it would be less time consuming.

Other wise, the next step it will be continue to add sections to correct the wobbly parts.
