Eventually we could leave it in this topic. If the post in this regard grow we could make a separate topic anyway.

Hi all,

I am quite a newbie in FREECAD but if I look on @bernd's list of
FEA solvers and some of the other posts I feel like home.

Code Aster is absolutely great in nonlin and thin structures,
best part under LINUX, WIN port (but with less capability) exists.

Someone interested in beam-truss models like the one needed for
MERO or alike spacial structures?

Maybe we could adapt the FRAME3DD methods?

Looking foreward on coming posts.

Have a good time all - Volker

I have been interested in Frame3DD too but recently encountered XC which is my favourite in this regard ATM ... See https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=31262
