Thanks Chris.
Are you confirming it saves colors, or confirming it is not saving colors?

I can see those colors.
Can you try creating one where you have colored specific faces, and not the entire body?

or your mouse is color-blind, or your video card is dead, if I download my file (I did not save it), I can see the red cube and the blue corner
Are the solids that are colored not the faces
if you make a cut, the inner matter is gray as in my head

funny.
What I'm referring to is creating a model where you've colored the faces individual colors using the 'Set Color' method available in 0.18, then save it, and see if you open it and see the individual face colors.

Are you confirming it saves colors, or confirming it is not saving colors?
I confirm it is not saving colors. Or to be even more precise: The colors are lost on save and reload.

I made the following test:
- Create a PartDesign additive cube at its default sizes
- color exactly one face
- save
- revert the file.

I attach the file so we see if it's the saving or the loading.

Edit: file removed.

I'm pretty sure it's the saving. I compared Document.xml with a plain cube and found only differences in creation time and uuids.

Thanks Chris,
Should I assume you'll open an issue for this and hopefully will be fixed soon. :)

issue #3830.
You may add a more recent FreeCAD info here or in the ticket. I left the target version open, this should not be the last show stopper for 0.18.
