When using the Part Design WB and call the preferences to export/import STEP there is the option "write out in parametric..."
It has unfortunately no tooltip and since this option is also not documented in the Wiki one doesn't know what this option does. Could there be at least a tooltip?
It would also be nice to have a tooltip for the 2 different STEP schemes (AP 203 and 214). E.g.
- for 203: "Configuration controlled 3D designs of mechanical parts and assemblies"
- for 214: "Core data for automotive mechanical design processes"
(wording stolen from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_10303#History)

Re: missing tooltips in STEP export preferences
Many thanks. I reported the missing tooltip now as issue #3837.easyw-fc wrote: ↑Wed Feb 13, 2019 11:36 am some tips on pcurve option (0025654: Disable writing pcurves to STEP and IGES by default)

My proposal for a tooltip is:
"Write also parametric curves for surfaces into the file"
Re: missing tooltips in STEP export preferences
Moved to Help forum. It has nothing to do with PartDesign, nor with development.
A Sketcher Lecture with in-depth information is available in English, auf Deutsch, en français, en español.
