Hi Chris,
thank you so much for your great work.

It's a pitty that reflect lines are not supported by Loft, Sweep and ruled Surface.
I have to convert it to JoinCurve.

Hi,

What tool to close the end of a wing?
I tried to use Sweep2Rails, but it doesn't work.
Also Gordon can't be defined.

Can someone give me suggestion?

Thanks

Regards.

… for the first approach a loft could be helpful.
Tilting the tip sketch by placement would improve the profile.

Hey there - newbie here.

Was trying to use CurvesWB to map sketch to a cylinder, and then offset the mapped sketch, but I keep running into this error:

BRepOffsetAPI_MakeOffsetShape not done

Can any experts here shed any light why this wont work? I've attached the test file if anyone cares to take a look

Thanks !!

I saw you updated the thread with a new version of the file; I think that new one is better than other, even for the quality of the surfaces.

Thank you very much.

Cheers.

I've seen several times PipeShell doesn't match perfectly with a standard Sweep (same parameters).
This is an example.

In this case, I think Pipeshell precisely matches the sweep.
In the picture below, you can see that the edge of the orange PipeShell follows the pink curves that are isocurves of the sweep.

I think the difference you are pointing in your screenshot comes from the sweep path that has a slight torsion compared to the cylinder surface.
Look at the comb plot of the attached file.

Curves WB is better as the part WB. While the classic Sweep fails, Pipeshell succeed.
thumbs up! ;)

There is simplified way to reach the same result with less features.

1. create a sketch in the first direction and extrude it to a face in the part workbench.
2. create a sketch in the second direction and extrude it to a face in the part workbench.
3. select the two faces and create a section out of it in the part workbench.
4. In the curves workbench convert the section curve into a joincurve corner break false.
5. Sketch the profile to sweep and convert it into a curves workbench profile.
6. Create a pipeshell out of the joincurve and profile

Hi Chris,
in the German forum section I asked if Freecad has something similar to a Creo tool to add a face to a solid with a single command or to replace a flat face with a freeform face.
Image

For example I created this part. The base part is a cuboid. With the Surface-Workbench I created a convex surface.

Here you can find the German topic and my Freecad-file to experiment with.

Maybe you have a great idea to program a clever replace face tool or add face to solid with one click.

Best regards
Wilfried
