I think there is no use in repairing this model. I recommend to keep the sketches and remodel it in a current 0.18 version.

I didn't even know the tool had been added, (I remember the discussion about splitting it from the Wall tool months ago), thanks for the info!

You seem to be using the release from the freecad-stable PPA, correct? I confirm that the tool is inactive with Python3, but it works in Python2.

To switch your FreeCAD to use Python2, make sure that the freecad-python2 package is installed, then in a terminal paste:

Code: Select all

sudo update-alternatives --config freecad
This will bring a choice to toggle between freecad-pyhon2 and freecad-python3.

Can you have a look? Most 0.18 installers are being built with Python3, the freecad PPA on Ubuntu is the only installation that can easily be switched between Python 2 and 3.

Thanks!

hi and thx, that's the output from the terminal, in any case do you think there will be un update to python3?

Code: Select all

 → sudo update-alternatives --config freecad

There is only one alternative in link group freecad (providing /usr/bin/freecad): /usr/lib/freecad/bin/freecad-python3
Nothing to configure.

I'm not the developer of the Sheet Metal workbench, how could I possibly know?
