I was designing a board in Part design, in the middle of it I sketched something(as you can see in the image).
When I tried to Pad the sketch its turning black and it can't be changed.
I have tried to fix it by changing the color back and it doesn't work.
I also tried to open it in FreeCAD 0.17 and still it doesn't work.

Trying to learn more about FreeCAD, any idea I will appreciate.

Hi
It's because you have traits that cross (self intersection thanks Openbrein) , you have to open all the closed rectangles

Re: Sketch turning BLACK when Padded
What meme2704 pointed out is called self intersection.
This can't be padded, pocketed, ... because it makes the geometric kernel to be lost about what are the internal and external faces.
All your sketches shall be simple closed shapes.

Hello R-INYURU, I'll also just toss this in. Save all your fillet/chamfer features till the end of your model. It will save you some troubles on down the road.

Re: Sketch turning BLACK when Padded
This just happened to me. I had a sketch with a number of holes where I had drawn circles on the holes, which were mapped from a plate with the holes. I couldn't find a way to see if I had overlapping circles, so I started deleting the circles one at a time. Finally I deleted a circle and there was still a circle there, so I knew I had found the one. If anyone knows a way to more elegantly solve this problem, please let me know. Thanks.

If you could attach the file that gives problem someone will take a look. It is too vague now.CCryder wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2019 6:47 am This just happened to me.
