Just a short note on epoxying the nylon hull. You would want to support the nylons by a layer of paper or similar with a closed surface. Squeeze out the extra resin with a soft scraper (balsa or such).
Otherwise you put too much resin on and it will not fill all the small gaps in the nylon. Other than that the hull worked out as planned. Some cleanup needs to be done now and the openings for the cutout inlets.

Aft section with inlet build in. What is really cool is that the opening of the aft inlet do fall in line with the frames of the hull. Same should happen for the front body section. Adds some visual spice for close up looking.

Sharky shows its teeth ... on to the technical stuff. Hull will be beautified when everything else is in working conditions. Deck drawing for laser finished. Not sure which material to take. Maybe 1mm Balsa so i can encarve the planks and so on.

Deck Layout (Directors Cut). First test sheets, on the right, resined and ok. Material will be 1mm Finnboard. But i do have to re-tyre my laser cutter. We do have a disagreement about "linear" or "straight". If that won't help i need to design me own one with linear bearings and stuff (but boy am i in the mood to do this ... )

Conning tower platform cut from DIY plywood. May be the matrial to go also for the deck.

Deck and canon tower with some details for eye candy. Materials used: finnboard, drawing board, DIY birch plywood (1.8mm), 0.6mm beech veneer, brass tube and wire, alu tube, electronic solder, resin, watertight glue. Finish will be matt clear paint. No coloring intended.

yes, the railing looks really good! Nice soldering as well as the added wood details.

Deck cutting took about 4.5hours overall for 1mm finnboard.
You might want to add max 10% spirit (ethyl alcohol; "Spiritus") to your resin.
This ensures that the resin will not harden rock solid.
The deck will be held in place by neodyn magnets.
15W Laser: Speed 500mm/min , 2 passes, Light intensity 600 (i know that there are different values on the internet. but mine runs in analog mode so may be the PWM is calculated a bit differently. i guess it is approx 25-35% duty cycle).
Sharky got its face mask. Pickles will be added later. The conning tower now. Main periscope takes the routing pipe for the antenna.

Center of masses with a lightly patched macro of shupins main work. The purple sphere indicates the "wanted" COM and the red one the actual COM with motors, batteries etc installed. The distance is approx 65mm aft. The overall weight should be around 3kg (theoretically).
According to FreeCAD and the COM macro i get 1.5211 kg (Frames plus Stringers plus aluminium bars). The actual weight is 1.5445 kg. So a net 20gr difference for the hull i.e. the nylons with resin. That is a bit to low but i estimated the density of finnboard+resin to 1.25 which of course varies a bit from day to day.
So all in all it is not a heavy lady and the estimation of figures where quite right.
