Sketch delete

I can't find the delete tool for doing sketches

What do you want to do ? Delete a complete sketch or items of a sketch ?
Anyway, the workflow is always to select what shall be deleted and hit the "Del" key.

actually that didn't work

I am use to pro/E and it had the ability to delete sections of a circle while leaving parts still connected

Have a look at the trim tool in Sketcher.
