Hello everybody,

just a question: so, at the moment, there is no way to mill a conical surface with the Path workbench, I'm right? :?
(Apart from manually generating dozens of sections, and then milling them one by one.)

BTW: the waterline algorithm will be included in the next 0.19 version?

You can get pretty close with a 3D pocket.

Choose the offset pattern

Today I was running waterline on a positive half sphere and ran into a pretty difficult issue.
The Layered option works well, unfortunately it means the step-over isn't constant. This leads into an issue with the finish.
Is it possible that the waterline milling might have an option to keep stepover constant?

You can very well use Path 3DPocket:

3D Pocket doesn't work for me.
It mills inside the cone also...

Please make sure that you use the latest 0.19 and add your FreeCAD infos.

I can confirm the inside path. It could be avoided if finals depth was editable.

For a workaround you are lucky that we have discussed this recently and I made several tests: You can use a Boundary dress-up:

Besides I used KeepToolDown to tidy the paths.

I cannot find any "Boundary dress-up" in Path menu of my 0.18.4 version. All I see are the usual "Dogbone dressup", "Tag dressup", etc.
I'm missing something? :?
