Do you mean the overlayed tree view on the 3d view? It's glass addon from triplus with some modifications. Doing assemblies requires a free vertical tree view . I'll do a tutorial on that too soon.
Thank you.

I saw that triplus' repository wasn't updated in a while...

https://github.com/triplus/Glass

Can you share your modifications?

This image is to show the relationship between the 6 legs(DOF) of the assembly.

Thank for the video, it was very helpful, but how do you set up the tree view on the left?

Please comment under the YouTube video. This being a user showcase thread I already see the admins getting upset because we're highjacking the thread :) .

The glass module is displayed on the left. If it still doesn't display your explanation is at 5.30 min in that video.
Hope that helps. Cheers.

Hexapod animation using Assembly4 workbench.
very nice. Would it be possible to show the assembly tree, may-be in multi-document view ? And collapsing all parts and links, only showing their names. I'm curious in how you built-up your model.
try the Assembly4 workbench for FreCAD v0.19
install with Tools > Addon Manager > Assembly4 — tutorials here and here
