Stirling Engine
This is an example of an assembly that was created with FreeCAD. It is a complete Stirling Engine.
All parts were created in one file from machining drawings, found on-line, basically in the order of assembly sequence.
All fasteners complete with accurate threading were imported from McMaster Carr STEP files.
The file is 3.84 MB, mostly due to the fasteners.
.
Created on Windows 7 V0.13 Rev 1828

Re: Show your FreeCAD projects here!
Very nice! That assembly looks massive!
Re: sterling engine
ppemawm,
The machining drawings came from this link http://www.john-tom.com/html/SteamPlans3.html?
Stirling Engine by Jean Fernand.
I teach machining and would like to use the designs in practical classes.

Re: sterling engine
I stumbled across this old post (when I chased spammers). The links to the images are lost. We have seen here your great models so I would ask, if you still have the images and if you can upload them here again.

Agreed! Thanks for asking @chrisb

Re: Stirling Engine
Thanks chrisb.
Done.
I am not sure if these are the same but they were in my file with the model.
Wow, look how far FreeCAD has advanced.

Re: sterling engine
Very nice!
BTW, the correct spelling for the name of the inventor is Stirling.

Re: Stirling Engine
Good catch...it seems my spelling is either common error or common use for the engine name. Take your pick.
In any event, I corrected the post.

Re: Stirling Engine
Thanks for adding these. I can see that you used groups to organize the model, sort of making your own body predecessor.
