Hi !

Many thanks to FreeCAD developers ! This was fast and easy design with FC & fast cut on small mill but kids were very happy that they could make their own "refrigerator magnets" :D

Finally managed to fix my daughter's tent as it was collapsing all the time.
A bit of FreeCAD, over-engineering and 3d printing does the job perfectly. :D

hello all !

The issue was a cap on hydraulic tank, fixed with only 2 screws in 2mm thickness steel sheet, lets the rain get into tank :? :? :?

To fix that I chose to increase steel thickness (2mm -> 6mm) and number of screws (2 -> 4). the cap is not weldable, flanged way is chosen.

1 - drawing
2 - FEM analysis
3 - change drawing and select suitable steel
4 - machining, welding, drilling, threading

Well done ! FreeCAD is cool 8-)

Hello all,

Let's made a pair of weldable half C clamps (what's this ??? https://www.google.com/search?q=weldabl ... 90&bih=732)

At office I've done with FreeCAD : design, FEM static analysis and drawing (one view in 1:1 scale for free hand cutting)
Material selected : Low alloy, high strength and wear resistant steel HARDOX 400 typical yield strength 1100 MPa, tensile strength 1250 MPa, good values, but still below analysis results.
At workshop I've done : cutting, cleaning, machining and welding.

Last step is painting and taping to have a clean and nice thread.

The mixer knob on my shower mixer broke completely. Printed this as a replacement part. Works very well and is way cheaper than buying the replacement.

It's a very simple design but perhaps someone gets inspired. Maybe as a beginner exercise in freecad!

Hello all !

Today I make a hoist trolley, design with Part & Fastener, FEM analysis, assembly with A2plus and exploded view by Exploded Assembly

Next step : drawing and fabrication.

Nice to see that FC is used for a complete engineering process.
Thumbs up!

Finally, I downsized steel thickness to 6mm, with high strength steel S700.

Below you can see drawings, first test assembly and finished parts.

FreeCAD get the job done.
