You are sure you added objects to the SectionPlane? Otherwise indeed it doesn't show anything. You can add with the Arch Add tool, or directly by giving a list of objects to the Objects property of the section plane. These objects can be a group too, which makes adding/removing pretty easy.

Whoops, I forgot you had to add items to it.
yorik wrote:You can add with the Arch Add tool
that worked as did first selecting 3 items and then clicking on Section icon

Changing the parameters of the Drawing view object is a bit unreliable, it seems to refresh sometimes and not others, if I toggle visibility it seems to make no difference ...I'll look again tomorrow. :)

good night

Hi guys,
I'm still have a strange behaviour.
OS: Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS
Platform: 64-bit
Version: 0.14.3245 (Git)
Branch: master
Hash: d632eb2843da9ccc8060df54ad36f5fd05264be1
Python version: 2.7.3
Qt version: 4.8.1
Coin version: 3.1.3
SoQt version: 1.5.0
OCC version: 6.5.1

Make an Arch Structure, add an Arch Section of Structure. (Delete Drawing page).
Move the Section with Edit menu Placement Tool and you will see the viewable placement is wrong. But the placement properties seem good.(After unselect/reselect Section Object)
Exemple : the origin placement of the Section is 0°,0,0,1,0,0,0
The move is : 270°,0,1,0,10,0,0
The viewable placement look like 0°,0,0,1,0,0,10 <== See how X become Z
The placement properties is : 270°,0,1,0,10,0,0
And if you move the section in this properties you see also that change X make move in Z direction the Arch Section.

Oo I have a lot of difficult to explain this. Sorry for the language.

In any case, I see the placement with Edit menu Placement work perfectly with Shape2DView of a Section. It don't move the Section.

Wow there is something really weird there... Modifying the placement directly works correctly, but using the Edit->Placement does something that I don't understand... After that, all the coordinates I give to the coin node get transformed. Never seen that before

Yes it's weird. And you know if you have few Arch Section they are all affected (it was surprising the first time ;) ).

hello people,
I'm new here so forgive me if I say some nonsense.
I think I have a problem identical to yours, I tried to make the template that Yorik released, but when I tried to create a drawing view the view is reversed (inverted).
here I leave the file to check.
Thank you,
Renato Rebelo

Hi Renato,
I don't think it was the same problem (this topic describe a strange behavior, not really a request for assistance).
I think you have to create a new post for you problem, and please give your FreeCAD info data.
However, when I open your file I see what you say, but as soon as I have to move the sections, the views was recompute in the right orientation.

thanks for the reply,
I apologize if I put the question in the wrong place.
But in the meantime I've tried ubuntu and really the problem is solved but in windows (xp or 7) the problem persists.
thanks anyway.

I am happy that your problem is solved, even if I do not know which is the problem with Windows.
It is not serious for the placement of the question, but if the problem persists made what I said.
In any case, welcome here ! :)
