Imagine what this thing would look like after a few weeks in the sea! The marine life would make it dysfunctional. You would have to paint it with the most toxic anti-fouling paint. Some of that depends on the particular ocean. Tropical waters around most of Australia make a boat unusable within a year due to marine life on the hull, without sophisticated anti fouling paint. The best anti fouling paint is illegal because it is highly toxic...it was still legal on full size ships at one time, may still be, because it was seen as impractical to pull a full size ship out of the water every year to clean and repaint the hull. Private yachts and the like, in waters near Sydney are pulled out of the water annually for a hull clean and new anti-fouling paint.

I think its either a deliberate scam or a unqualified, naive dreamer.
I actually feel similar about the project. I am not qualified to be able to judge on the design, but I know water and specially sea is a very harsh environment to build and maintain things in... Was simply surprised to see FreeCAD and Blender in the video :)

Hello everyone. I found this on the web:

Yeah, definitely a scam using FreeCAD as bait.

Here's what you get when you click on the Download button.

EDIT: since that fake site is on Blogspot/Blogger, I reported it to Google.

FreeCAD is now available on RollApp and can be launched and used in the browser:
https://www.rollapp.com/app/freecad

One can test it for free without registering, just klick on launch on the link and then lookout for the slightly hidden TestDrive button.

It is rather slow, has a few graphic glitches and is therefore annoying o work with, but all in all it works and it is pretty cool to run it in the browser :)

I did not test if I could open files from the harddrive, but they claim to allow connections to storage services like dropbox. this might be a easy way to render freecad files on tablets and smartphones.
