Warnung bei der Gmesh Vernetzung

Post by Th. Homann »

Liebe FreeCad Nutzer
Als absoluter Anfänger beschäftige mich zur Zeit mit der FEM Workbench von FreeCad und habe das anisim Open Source Engineering Software Tutorial "Unterschiedliche Materialien in einer linear mechanischen Analyse" nachvollzogen. Bei der Gmesh Vernetzung erscheint folgende Warnung: Unknown element for UNV export (MSH type 15) - output file might be invalid. Wie kann diese Warnmeldung verhindert werden? Für Hinweise und Hilfestellung danke ich im Voraus.
Thorsten

That's true.

Dear FreeCad User, Dear bernd
Many thanks for your posts but much to my regret I am not able to solve my problem with the submitted information. When I ignored the warning and continue with the analyse the next message "FEM: no mesh object found in analysis" shows on the monitor . However there are following You Tube Tutorials with different FreeCad versions which are running obviously without this warnings.
Version 0.17; Revision 12871; Publication date 2017/02/26; Window 10; 64 bit; Branch master
Version 018; Revision 14790; Publication date 2018/09/22; Window 10; 64 bit; Branch master
Therefore I assume and hope there is a minor problem which can easily corrected with your assistance or is there any platform from where to download one of the mentioned versions. Many thanks in advance.
Regards Thorsten

Dear Bernd
Thank you for your fast reply and the request to check my file. I have tried now several times without success. After generation the Gmesh file the reported warning occurs again. When this warning will be ignored and the CalculiXccx Tools started in order to generate the write.inp file the PC failed. After file recovery the CalculiXccx Tools con not start again.
Thanks in advance for your efforts.
Kind regards Thorsten

Geduld ist die Mutter aller Tugenden. SCNR to use German ...

- start FreeCAD
- load your file
- open mesh object
- mesh
- move mesh obj inside the analysis
- select solver run
- wait (it could take up to 5 minutes if you did not meshed with group preference in FEM pref. without the group pref it is more robust but slow)
- make post processing

BTW: if you use latest master the warning which can be ignored will be gone.

Hallo Bernd
Thank you for your yesterdays reply. Much to my regret I am not able to understand how it works. Your answers generate a lot of questions to me. Due to my absolutely unexperienced knowledge I would like a more detailed advise. I have started FreeCad, load the file and did the coarse and fine meshing. When I started the Calculix solver the PC failed again and mentioned that there is no reply of FreeCad. Maybe you can sent me a screen shot from your Combo view or better the complete file.
How can I move the mesh object inside the analysis? I assume, the solver to be selected is the Calculix solver shown underneath the Analysis in the Combo view? For the meshing I used the icons FEMMeshGmesh and FEMMeshRegion only. What I have to understand under FEM pref. or group pref.? The post processing will be started with the F5 bottom!? What I have to understand under the latest master? I am sorry for all my stupid questions which might be very simple to you.
Kind regards Thorsten
