[Enhancing polar/linear array] : option "intances to be skipped"
I feel useful an option in the polar and linear array to skip some istances in the feature.
ie: i have to make 7 holes (8 holes to 45° but one), i make the polar pattern and then select graphically the ones to be skipped
what do you think?

Have a look at the Lattice workbench.

BIG +1 on that. There were allot of times that I needed that.

Would be great to have the option to skip instances with tha pattern.
@Chrisb It is nice that Lattice have that option, but it second (or third )best

It looks to me as an excellent challenge for one that want to start contributing FreeCAD. Let's go guys. Not anymore time to request. Roll up your sleeves and start coding.

Isn't Part->Defeaturing what you are looking for?
Flange with a polar pattern of five holes, one of them "defeatured":
The pattern will lose its parametrics, but that is probably to be expected?

I havent tried myself, but I read in the German forum that Defeaturing workbench keeps parametrics.

Hi,
Just as an Idea ... how about a kind of user definable "Pattern" like it might be known from "regular expressions" which is repeated till the count of instances is reached.
e.g. "YNYNN*" ... leads to: Feature, No Feature, Feature, 2x No Feature and will be repeated ... till ...
Regards,
Stefan

Please watch my golfball video:
https://peertube.mastodon.host/videos/w ... 3d17672afb
From the Lattice2 Workbench I use the tool explode Compound to split an array into its individual parts, everything else you can see in the video.
Best regards
