[ Regression ? ] LinkPathArray 'Mis-Behave' ? - Carpenter Center

Post by paullee »

Hi, another observation.

There are a few LinkPathArray in the captioned model, as Window Wall, now recompute they do not stand upright any more

Just testing
- FreeCAD_0.19-20943-Linux-Conda_glibc2.12-x86_64.AppImage
- on Fedora 31

Found OK with previous AppImage

FreeCAD_0.19-20655-Linux-Conda_glibc2.12-x86_64.AppImage - OK
FreeCAD_0.19-20943-Linux-Conda_glibc2.12-x86_64.AppImage - NOT OK

Don't blame the software. It was you who used weak screws... :)

There were recent changes to PathArray to fix copy orientation for Align = True.

Maybe Arch expects the erroneous behaviour? It looks like it might from the pictures. Does anybody have a small file that illustrates the issue?

This could definitely be.
PS: Just compelted splitting of Draft.py, so please can we wait just 2 or 3 days for pushing any fix to Array classes for yorik to merge the PR? :) thx!

Surely the change will affect any older path array file (it's not a Link specific issue), here's a cycle chain from 2018. I would just transform the position of the base link by 90 degrees in a new build but it would be nice to have something to handle older files if it's not a major headache please. Note this file was only done for visualisation purposes before the cries of that chain doesn't work properly!
