I'm have had no experience with CAD programs but would like to create 3D floor plans, by importing my Architect's detailed drawings (converted to .svg) into FreeCAD and create a user friendly floor plan that includes fixtures (bathroom, kitchen), windows, doors and room sizes only. My dilemma is I don't know which workbenches I'll require and where to find tutorials on how to import and copy these documents.

Re: Workbench dilemma
Hi and welcome to the forum!
You can use File->Import, use the format "SVG as geometry". That gives you some Draft lines.
I am not familiar with the Arch workbench, so I move this topic to the appropriate Arch subforum.

Re: Workbench dilemma
There are lots of resources, but as development are fast, part of them are updated to use latest features.
