Silk Point on Curve and Nurbs-WB Tripod malfunction

Post by freecad-heini-1 »

Hi,
I need a point on Curve.
In my opinion, there are only two ways to do this. Point on Curve from Silk Workbench and the tripod from Nurbs Workbench.
I need a point on a curve that can be controlled either by a factor along the curve or by a distance.
What other possibilities are there?
Why do the two tools not work anymore? Is there a way to fix them?
The only option currently known to me is discretize Curve from the Curves Workbench.

please let me see your file (a simple one please) showing the type of curve you want to use the tool on.

Maybe Split_Curve will fit your needs.
You can edit the values :
- available units : mm, % and no unit (real parameter)
- negative values are computed from the end.

The "Attachment" mechanism has the "Map Path Parameter", it works more or less for any object. Below is an example with draft wire that I upgraded to a curve and attached a normal point object on it with 0,7 map path placement... See also Victor's answer to my question about missing it for the DatumPoint https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... 10#p318391
