Hi,
I am currently evaluating what I can do with FreeCAD and OpenFoam, for carrying out thermal simulations of connected objects.
1) Can Thermal Radiation of an object surface be simulated?
2) Can I calculated the surfaces that are view from a given one (as well as the view factors)?
3) Can the exchange of heat in between two bodies in contact be modeled and simulated?
Thanks in advance for your answers!

I'm not sure about (2). (1) and (3) are possible is OpenFOAM, but not supported by CfdOF. (3) is planned, and we're always open to contributions!
Please provide all the information requested in this post before reporting problems with CfdOF.
Re: Thermal Radiation Analysis
I'm not sure to understand why this thread have been moved to the CFD forum.
For me, using calculix, all the answer to the questions asked are "yes"
(I didn't look very deeply, but I found this document (http://www.dhondt.de/ccx_2.14.pdf) and if you look "calculix thermal contact" or "calculix view factor" or "calculix thermal radiation" on goole, you'll find some examples and videos.)
Calculix is used within FreeCAD for the "standard" thermal computation, but it's true that all calculix functions aren't available on FreeCAD interface. Meanwhile, the .inp files can be edited to add the wanted keywords.
