I have an idea for that, using the current icons that do that in FreeCAD, a bit like Part Shape Builder or the Assembly icons.....I'll get back to you on that.
keithsloan52 wrote: Fri Apr 26, 2019 2:09 pm In case you are wondering the two icons that I have coded and waiting for your designs are elliptical tube and ellipsoid.
OK I'll do those next then, to be honest I am finding it a bit difficult, so I am not totally happy with the quality of many of them, but I though probably best to produce something rather than nothing as they can always be improved or replaced later, also at icon resolution the quality short comings may not be too bad.
keithsloan52 wrote: Fri Apr 26, 2019 2:09 pm I still have a lot of icons/functions to code for so keep the designs coming
Will do, but I will be busy most of tomorrow so there will be a bit of a delay for some.... :)

Found on web in Green with the mauve
solids looks a but Wimbledon esk
This is what I had in mind for "DrawStyleCycle", its not perfect I had hoped to be able to put some sort of arrows in there but its not possible at that resolution so I thought particularly for those of us who recognise the DrawStyle icons perhaps it would be alright?

Okay I think we should have a pause here.

Now you have done the latest icons I have all the bases covered for what I have coded so far.

There is an associate professor a Wouter Deconinck https://github.com/wdconinc who has shown an interest
but seems to have gone cold at the moment. I think he might be waiting for the end of the current semester and
an ease off of his workload.

I would like to get his feedback on what I have done so far, his branch of my repository is about 90 commits
behind so he has not looked at it for a while.

Lolwut? Parallelepiped is a real word.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallelepiped
Wikipedia wrote: in accordance with its etymology in Greek παραλληλ-επίπεδον, a body "having parallel planes".
It's not parallel-pipe (tube) if that was what you were thinking.

Isn't that just what Jim said?

Hi @jmaustpc

Still have not heard anymore from Wouter, but CERN introduce a new forum for GEANT4
https://geant4-forum.web.cern.ch/ and I posted in there asking for feedback.

Still have not had any feedback other than the repository now has 3 stars on github and 2 thumbs up on the forum post.
There have been 11 github clones
Not exactly viral but one lives in hope.
I have added GDML preferences and it would be good to have a icon for it i.e. preferences-gdml.svg
At present it is just a copy of the OpenSCAD one

perhaps in such a specialised area rather than aiming for "viral" we had better just aim for a "very big fish in a small pond"! :D

I noticed your question about preferences in the dev forum, so I was hoping you would be back in this topic soon. :)

I will create your icon tomorrow, I might just finish the other icons as well over the next few days in case you end up needing them.

There is a nice movement at Cern:
The Microsoft Alternatives project (MAlt) @ CERN
It would be great if FreeCAD could be involved in this project.

Cern has already started to support KiCAD
KiCad software gets the CERN treatment
and KiCAD and FreeCAD are already good companions...
All KiCAD 3D library (more than 7000 3D models) have been developed in FreeCAD, through CadQuery, a FreeCAD addon.
And the collaboration can go much further
Seamless ECAD/MCAD PCB Data Integration (KiCAD/FreeCAD)

And now this GDML FreeCAD WB could push FreeCAD to be the right 3D CAD sw to be embraced by CERN...

CERN support for KiCAD and paying for two developers was exactly my motivation for trying to develop the GDML workbench.

Was not aware of the first link will check it out. Thanks
